Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to end your summer? Join us at the Twist and Shout and get ready to rock out to some of the best country, reggae, Motown, surf, and blues music you've ever heard. Campers will be challenged to try new things and push their skills as they work together to create an unforgettable performance in just two weeks.
Campers will work in groups of similarly aged youth.
Early Drop Off and Late Pick Up:
We understand that families have busy schedules, so we provide early drop-off and late pick-up programs for your convenience. Each program costs $5 per day or $20 per week. You can opt-in for these programs after completing your enrollment or add them at a later date by contacting us directly.

Theatre is more than just what happens on stage! There is a world of professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the magic happen. Join us in supporting one of our summer performance camps and gain hands-on experience in preparing lighting, sound, props, and costumes for a show - then step into the role of a crew member during performance.
Two Camps to Choose From:
Start your Saturday the Musical Theatre way! During this two-hour class, students will build acting, dancing, and singing skills while working with teaching artists who specialize in each area. On the final day of the series, families will be invited to view an informal showcase of skills learned.
Note: Students will be grouped with those of similar age.
Theatre Explorers combines imaginative play, singing, acting, and movement to introduce the building blocks of the performing arts. These budding performers learn in a playful environment developing confidence and having fun! Loved ones are invited to participate in class on the last day of the class series.
Lots of learning opportunities are woven together by loving teachers as budding performers develop confidence and strengthen skills in our Creative Play class. Books, music and visual arts are used for inspiration for acting, dance, and music mini-lessons designed to foster creativity and nurture self-esteem. On the final day of class, families are invited to participate in a lesson with us.
With a focus on imaginative journeys, Foundations in Theatre provides a creative space for students to explore, move and challenge their acting and memorization skills. On the final day of class, families can enjoy an informal sharing of the skills learned during this process-based program. Families are invited to an informal skills share on the last day of class.
The course is structured to encourage movement, creativity, and the challenge of pushing one's limits in a supportive and inclusive setting. Students will engage in exercises that stimulate their imagination, teach them the fundamentals of acting, and allow them to delve into character development and storytelling. On the final class day, families are invited to celebrate the achievements of their young actors at our skills share held during class time.
Taking the Stage is an acting class that encourages imaginative journeys and provides a creative space for students to explore, move, and challenge their skills. The program is process-based and focuses on developing acting and memorization abilities. At the end of the course, families can enjoy an informal sharing of the skills learned by the students.
This course fosters a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and constructive feedback, preparing students for the teamwork-centric nature of musical theatre. Students will receive personalized feedback to improve improved vocal abilities and a deeper understanding of the art and craft of musical theatre performance.
Ages 14+
Focused on the unique fusion of storytelling and movement, this course offers students the opportunity to explore various dance styles frequently seen on the Broadway stage, including but not limited to jazz, ballet, and contemporary. Each session is crafted to bolster students' confidence, improve their dance technique, and enhance their expressive abilities, all while paying homage to the rich history and evolution of musical theatre.
Unlock the magic of Broadway in our exhilarating class, "Gotta Sing - Gotta Dance!" This course offers a unique opportunity to merge the dynamic worlds of singing and dancing into one seamless performance. Each week, students will dive into the heart of musical theatre by learning a new dance number complemented by its vocal counterpart, all drawn from the rich repertoire of Broadway musicals.

To meet some of our Penguin families and the directing team, stop by one of our summer meetups at the Carver Center. Meet ups will last an hour and include some acting, singing and dancing as well as time to meet new friends and catch up with familiar Penguins.
The Academy of Theatre Arts is pleased to offer free Audition Workshops for each production of the season. Audition workshops are led by the production’s artistic team, using the same materials that will be used at the auditions. Time is built into the workshop for participants to receive personalized tips and feedback.
Registration will be open two months prior to each workshop. Before registration opens, dates may change based upon staff ability.
