Musical Theatre FUNdamentals (PS-8th Gr.)

Start your Saturday the Musical Theatre way! During this two-hour class, students will build acting, dancing, and singing skills while working with teaching artists who specialize in each area. On the final day of the series, families will be invited to view an informal showcase of skills learned.

Note:  Students will be grouped with those of similar age.

Theatre Explorers (2-4 Yr.)

Theatre Explorers combines imaginative play, singing, acting, and movement to introduce the building blocks of the performing arts. Creative Play (PS-1st Gr.)

Lots of learning opportunities are woven together by loving teachers as budding performers develop confidence and strengthen skills in our Creative Play class. Books, music and visual arts are used for inspiration for acting, dance, and music mini-lessons designed to foster creativity and nurture self-esteem. On the final day of class, families are invited to participate in a lesson with us.

Musical Moves (Gr 1-5)

Get ready to groove in, Musical Moves, a fun and energetic introduction to musical theatre dance! In this class, students will learn the basics of dance while bringing favorite Broadway songs to life through movement. We’ll explore techniques like rhythm, coordination, and expressive choreography, all while building confidence and stage presence. Students will work on routines inspired by well-loved musicals, developing skills in teamwork and performance as they learn to dance with a story. No prior dance experience is required. Just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!

With a focus on imaginative journeys, Foundations in Theatre provides a creative space for students to explore, move and challenge their acting and memorization skills. The course is structured to encourage movement, creativity, and the challenge of pushing one's limits in a supportive and inclusive setting. On the final class day, families are invited to celebrate the achievements of their young actors at our skills share held during class time.

Singer's Studio

Syncopation Sensation, A Spring Break Jazz Performance Journey

Join us for this unforgettable Spring Break adventure, where the worlds of jazz and musical theatre collide to create a spectacular show! Participants will dive into the rhythm and soul of jazz during our 5-day adventure designed for performers in grades PS-9. Teaching Artists with a passion for education and performance will guide each camper through mini-lessons designed to hone their skills in a fun, supportive, and creative environment. Expect to dive deep into character development, vocal techniques, jazz dance routines, and ensemble performance, all while embracing the spontaneity and improvisation that jazz embodies. Syncopation Sensation promises an enriching experience that will leave campers with lasting memories and a deeper love for the arts. Authors and Actors Camp: Grades 5-9

From Page to Stage, Spring into action:  Script, Act, and Shine!

Campers will unleash their creativity in this exciting 5-day experience for grades 5-9! In just one week, participants will collaborate with fellow young performers to create and stage an entirely original production. Guided by our experienced teaching artists, they’ll explore improvisation, character development, storytelling, and movement, using imagination to build a brand-new show from scratch. From brainstorming to rehearsing to working as a team – campers will work together to shape a dynamic performance reflecting their own voices.  Join us for a week of creativity, teamwork, and theatrical magic!

Audition Workshops 2024-25

The Academy of Theatre Arts is pleased to offer free Audition Workshops for each production of the season. Audition workshops are led by the production’s artistic team, using the same materials that will be used at the auditions. Time is built into the workshop for participants to receive personalized tips and feedback. 

Registration will be open two months prior to each workshop. Before registration opens, dates may change based upon staff ability.

The workshops cover the performers audition only – they may include information but not instruction about crew opportunities
