You will not want to miss the who-dun-it comedy The 39 Steps continuing through March 17th in the Civic Auditorium.  We announce our new season to the public on March 19th at 6:30pm in the Civic Auditorium.  Come and join us and be the first to know what the Civic has instore for the upcoming 96th season! The Director of Volunteers is presently updating a new Ludus account for volunteers! Ludus is an online platform for tickets and volunteering. The volunteer section is very new and Mike is entering all of your information in Ludus so that you can easily sign up for volunteer positions in the future.  You may receive an email in the next few weeks, this indicates your information has successfully been entered into the volunteer section of Ludus. You will not want to miss our next production at the Civic Auditorium. Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps This fast-paced whodunit is a two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat, packed with nonstop laughs, and over 150 zany characters played by a ridiculously talented cast of four!

 

The 39 Steps was adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and is based on the movie by Alfred Hitchcock, with the original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon. The 39 Steps is directed by Kevin Dodd and features Katherine Harte-DeCoux, Drew Dixon, Trevor Stefanick, and David Noyes. Foley artists for the show are Jake Burrell, Traci Glasscock, and Nora Hauk.  The stage management team is comprised of Val Glasscock, Angelica Zoch, and Kristine Schomisch.  A crew of 15 more individuals work behind the scenes on this fast paced comedy.

It is hard to believe, but our 95th season at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre is almost at a close.  This means only one thing:  the 96th season is just around the corner.  The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre will announce its 96th season line up on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30pm in the Civic Auditorium.  Make sure to mark your calendars and join us for our 96th Season Announcement.

Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience packed with exciting activities such as celebrations, dancing, singing, and epic pool noodle battles. This unique camp is dedicated to fostering diversity, embracing differences, and ensuring a fun and supportive inclusive environment for all participants.

Ever want to be a part of the front of house entertainment as a Pan Am Stewardess? We are looking for up to 4 female-identifying individuals to help sell concessions on galley carts in costume as a Pan Am Stewardess. We would like to have at least 2 of the 4 stewardess available for the following performances. Volunteers would need to arrive 90 minutes prior to each performance to get into costume and be ready to sell concessions from house open through intermission.

Tickets are going extremely fast for 2 of our upcoming shows at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre and you are going to want to reserve your tickets today.

 

Forever Plaid is playing in our Carver Center Studio from April 5th through April 21st.  This show has been extended already and has added performances on Saturday, April 20th at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 21st at 2:00pm. The April 5, 7, 12 and 14 shows are already sold out. Get your tickets for this amazing show before it is too late.

 

Disney's The Lion King Jr., presented by our Civic Youth Theatre April 19th through April 29th, is also selling out very quickly.  Shows on April 19th, 21th, 27th (10am), 27th (2:00pm) and 28th are already sold out.  All other shows for this production have very limited seating. Don't delay. Less than 130 tickets remain for this entire run.

Mark your calendars!!! Saturday, June 1st at 2:00pm will be this year's Kalamazoo Civic Theatre volunteer celebration.  All volunteers are welcome to attend.  Together, we will look back on the Civic's 95th season and forward to the 96th.  Join us and help the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre celebrate you, our fabulous volunteers. 

 

Vicksburg High School performs Annie on March 9-16 in the Vicksburg Performing Arts Center. The Friday and Saturday evening shows are at 7pm and the Saturday and Sunday Matinees are at 2pm. Melissa Sparks directs the show and Annie features Civic volunteers Isobel Newman (Tessie/ Ensemble), Kendall Childs (Kate, Ensemble), Isabella Hopkins (Assistant Stage Manager), and Taylor VanDam (Cecille, Ensemble).  To purchase tickets, click on the button below.  

 

Bare Backstage Productions presents Quatrefoil, written by RJ Soule, performs at the Parish Theatre on March 14, 15, 16 at 7:30pm and March 17 at 2:00pm. Quatrefoil is the story of Phillip Froelich who is in trouble. The year is 1946 and he’s traveling to Seattle where he is facing a court martial for insubordination brought by an inept Senior Officer in the closing days of World War II. On the way to Seattle he meets Tim Danelaw, and soon the court martial is among the least of Phillip’s concerns....

 
The play is directed by Lisa Marie Parker, stage managed by Jan Watson and produced by Laura Kay Henderson. Dawn & Reed Shilts and Kevin & Mary Whiteford are Associate Producers.

Kalamazoo Christian High School presents Once Upon A Mattress March 21th to March 23rd in the Comstock Community Auditorium.  Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm and on Saturday there is a matinee at 2pm.  Aaron Potter (Meet Me in St Louis, Newsies) directs the show, Sarah Aiello (Big Fish, Meet Me in St Louis) is music director and Andi Potter (Meet Me In St Louis, Newsies) is the props/costume manager.  For more information and to purchase tickets, click on the link.  https://kchsperformingarts.ludus.com/ .
