Our 96th Season is announced!  If you were not able to attend the season announcement, please look below for our exciting line-up of shows.  Read more information on the Ludus update for volunteers, summer camps, ushering opportunities, a special opportunity with Catch Me If You Can for front of house, and so much more below. The Director of Volunteers is presently updating a new Ludus account for volunteers! Ludus is an online platform for tickets and volunteering. The volunteer section is very new and Mike is entering all of your information in Ludus so that you can easily sign up for volunteer positions in the future.  You may receive an email in the next few weeks, this indicates your information has successfully been entered into the volunteer section of Ludus. If you have any questions about what is happening or need to know more, please email Mike Artis, Director of Volunteers, at martis@kazoocivic.com.

 

Usher signups are available for Forever Plaid (very limited spaces), Lion King Jr, and Catch Me If You Can.  To signup to usher for a show, please click on the corresponding button below.  If you have questions or need assistance to signup, please contact your Director of Volunteers, Mike Artis at martis@kazoocivicc.com.

 

The Kalamazoo Civic's 96th Season was announced this week on Tuesday, March 19th.  It was wonderful to see all of people who attended.  The Seasons shows are below.  But first we want to Thank the volunteers who were on the playreading committee.  Your generous time helped to make the 96th Season possible.  Thank you.

 

The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre's 96th Season:

 

  • The Opener - Stay Tuned...
  • Let it Be Music - A musical tribute to the Beatles is our Senior Reader's Theatre production which will be performed in Parish theatre.
  • Disney Pixar's Finding Nemo Jr. - Our Civic Youth Theatre will present this wonderful movie now Broadway musical classic on the Civic Auditorium Stage.
  • Radium Girls - Examines the fight of female factory workers demanding safer working conditions in a watch factory.  This powerful play will be presented in the Parish Studio.
  • Cinderella - This classic fable retelling is our Mainstage holiday show.  What a wonderful way to start the holiday.
  • Well - A story of mothers and daughters dealing with chronic illness will be presented in the Carver Studio
  • Press Start - This year's Penguin Project examines the Heroes, their Sidekicks and Vilnians from the world of Video games and will be presented in Civic Auditorium.
  • California Suite - This Neil Simon Classic is being presented in the Parish Theatre.
  • Parade - This dramatization of the Leo Frank/Mary Fagan  story will be presented in the Civic Auditorium.
  • Dancing at Lughnasa - Our Civic Centennial Presentation is the story a family of five sisters in County Donegal, Ireland.  Our Senior Reader's Theatre will perform this amazing story in the Carver Studio.
  • The Seussification of a Midsummer Night's Dream -  Shakespeare gets a make over by Dr. Seuss in this Civic Youth Theatre production presented in the Parish Theatre.
  • The Wedding Singer - This story of new love is our closing musical presented in the Civic Auditorium.

Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience packed with exciting activities such as celebrations, dancing, singing, and epic pool noodle battles. This unique camp is dedicated to fostering diversity, embracing differences, and ensuring a fun and supportive inclusive environment for all participants.

 

Get ready for an exciting journey that will take you beyond the stars!

 

Ever want to be a part of the front of house entertainment as a Pan Am Stewardess? We are looking for up to 4 female-identifying individuals to help sell concessions on galley carts in costume as a Pan Am Stewardess. We would like to have at least 2 of the 4 stewardess available for the following performances. Volunteers would need to arrive 90 minutes prior to each performance to get into costume and be ready to sell concessions from house open through intermission.

Tickets are going extremely fast for Forever Plaid.  You are going to want to reserve your tickets today.

 

Forever Plaid is playing in our Carver Center Studio from April 5th through April 21st.  This show has been extended already and we have two additional performances on Thursday, April 11th at 7:30pm and Saturday, April 20th at 7:30pm. The April 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 14th and 21st shows are already sold out. Get your tickets, today, for this amazing show before it is too late.

Mark your calendars!!! Saturday, June 1st at 2:00pm will be this year's Kalamazoo Civic Theatre volunteer celebration.  All volunteers are welcome to attend.  Together, we will look back on the Civic's 95th season and forward to the 96th.  Join us and help the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre celebrate you, our fabulous volunteers. 

 

Kalamazoo Christian High School presents Once Upon A Mattress March 21th to March 23rd in the Comstock Community Auditorium.  Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm and on Saturday there is a matinee at 2pm.  Aaron Potter (Meet Me in St Louis, Newsies) directs the show, Sarah Aiello (Big Fish, Meet Me in St Louis) is music director and Andi Potter (Meet Me In St Louis, Newsies) is the props/costume manager.  For more information and to purchase tickets, click on the link.  https://kchsperformingarts.ludus.com/ .
